- Start by making sure that the issue is specific to your device: see if other devices can connect to the same network and can access the internet without issue
- If other devices cannot access the network either, try restarting your router by turning it off, unplugging it for 5 minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on again
If the issue is specific to your device, Select your OS:
Windows
- Use the Network troubleshooter:
- Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Under “Change your network” settings, select “Network troubleshooter”
- Make sure WiFi is on:
- Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Select “Show available networks”. If a network you expect to see appears in the list, select it.
- Then select Connect.
- Forget the network:
- Click the WiFi icon at the bottom right of the screen
- Click the network you are connected to
- Click "Forget"
- Click the network again and click "Connect"
MacOS
- Go to your WiFi settings on your Mac and turn it off
- Go to WiFi and select “Open Network Preferences” and run diagnostics
- Forget the network:
- Go to System Preferences > Network, then select Wi-Fi in the list on the left and then click Advanced.
- Select the network you wish to forget, press the (-) and agree to Remove
- Restart your Mac by clicking the Apple icon on the top left and selecting "Restart"
iPhone/iPad
- Go to your WiFi setting and turn it off and on again
- Forget the network and rejoin:
- Go to Settings > WiFi, then select your Wi-Fi name
- Click the Information button on the right.
- Select and agree to Remove
- Go Back to the main page on the WiFi Settings and add the network again
- Reboot your phone
Android
- Restart your device
- If restarting doesn't work, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data:
- Open your Settings app "Wireless & networks" or "Connections". Depending on your device, these options may be different
- Turn Wi-Fi off and mobile data on, and check to see if there's a difference
- If not, turn mobile data off and Wi-Fi on and see if that works
